Coaching FAQs
Why would I want a coach?
Coaching is a powerful tool that successful people use to achieve their goals and a more satisfying life through a coach’s challenge, support and accountability. Coaching conversations will span a wide range of subjects – all focused on the client’s needs at that time. Some coaching topics include:
How to live in a way that fully expresses your passions, create clear goals, define life purpose, identify changes needed to be more fulfilled, identify core values, talents and strengths, resolve a specific issue and/or transform a relationship.
Difference between coaching and counseling?
Put simply, coaching is forward moving, towards greater satisfaction of life. Counseling or therapy usually focuses on healing unresolved psychological issues of the past. Coaching focuses on the present and moves you forward by using your strengths, gifts and wisdom to guide you in living a more fulfilling life. A coach is your partner, a collaborator, rather than the expert. Unlike therapists, coaches do not diagnose mental disorders.
How does coaching work?
I work with you to design your own personal coaching program. Fees are based on how often we will coach and the length of each session. Coaching is usually conducted 2 times a month over the phone or in person if in Minneapolis area. Sessions are usually 45 minutes. You, the client, own the agenda and as your coach I will challenge, ask questions, make requests, stretch and support you towards the transformational growth you desire.
